We thought long and hard about Big Time Rush being in our music t-shirts collection but we couldn’t ignore the emails from fans begging for it to happen so we had to really and we’re glad we did. Some people look upon them as a novelty act but that’s more than unfair.
They have some of the most vocal and passionate fans from all over the world and whilst they scream and shout the world has had to take notice. Originally the concept of Scott Fellows a now acclaimed music producer it follows the lives of four hockey players from Minnesota who find themselves selected for a boy band.
Their pilot went down a storm on Nickelodeon and its opening show has an amazing 6.8 million viewers. That’s pretty incredible for a live action series debut. The line up share similar names to their stars in Kendall Knight (Kendall Schmidt), Carlos Garcia (Carlos Pena Jr), James Diamond (James Maslow) and Logan Mitchell (Logan Henderson),
Big Time Rush or BTR as they’re known to fans used music and instrumentals throughout the show and that inevitably led to a record deal and the players to stand up were Sony/Columbia in a similar move to that of the popular show iCarly and Victorious.
The band received mixed reviews some stating that they’re an attempt to copy the Disney’s Jonas Brothers but that won’t matter to fans. They’re popular, the smart, good role models and young girls like them anything critical is usually coming from the mouth of a cynical human being otherwise how could you say a bad word about decent role models for young people in a world full of poor ones?
