N-Dubz are the British hip hop group that became a hit late in the 2000's before splitting late 2011.
The group were Dappy, Tulisa Contostavlos and Fazer, all of whom grew up on Camden Town in London, England. Their most successful single was "I Need You" which made number 5, and was 1 of 8 top 40 hits in the UK Singles Chart.
Their debut album Uncle B, which became platinum after 300,000 units in the UK, was released in November 2008, and was succeeded the following November by the second album Against All Odds, which went platinum within three months.
The group were never far from controversy, mainly concerning Dappy, but they rose to success from having a hard upbringing. In late 2011 Tulisa and Dappy claimed that the group were to have a 2 year break, but in March 2012 this was confirmed by Tulisa to be an actual split. The real reasons were not divulged, but it is widely thought that it was due to an argument between Tulisa and Dappy.
